I'm trying something different than my usual wash and gos. I think my hair is getting to the point where it doesn't like to just be washed and left to its own madness. Although, I always put some sort of curly pudding, hair milk, etc on it, I think it's time to move on. I have a lot of hair. It's not long by any means, but my hair is super thick. And I want to show off what I have instead of just washing it and wearing it all shrunk up!
So, with that being said, I gave wash and go's one last try on Monday. And, I used an old school product that I have never had any success with- Kinky Curly! Instead of doing the rake method as suggested on the jar, I just took maybe a half dollar amount into my palms, rubbed them together, and scrunched through my hair all over. Still had the day drying time, but I did have less shrinkage and some curl definition going on. What I really like about Kinky curly, is that it is super moisturizing. The downside- it still left flakes (although less than usual) and stickiness. And, I just can't deal w the stickiness. On Wednesday, I started twisting my hair and braiding some sections at night without adding anything to it (I'm out of any sort of cream moisturizer) to see if I could revive the look since the kinky curly product was still in there. Eh, it came out okay. I think I really needed some product to set the look overnight. So, I'm now trying different methods of styling my hair to see what works for me and will update with the results.

Hey this is Cherekana from bglh. I saw your comment you left and I thought it was so funny how much we have in common. I will be checking in on your blog as well! And from one law student to another, I know 1L year is tough but hang in there. Happy outlining (if that's what you do) and good luck on finals!
Yeah girl we outline lol. Going over my torts outline now- 69 pages. Thank you for the luck- I'm going to need it! And good luck to you as well! What kind of law are you interested in?
Not sure yet, I am still crossing things off my list but I will likely not practice in the traditional sense. How about you? Congrats on the summer job. You said D.A.'s office, correct? Sounds like you are in NY law school, is that right?
Thanks, and yes I'll be at a DA's office. NY? I wish. I go to UGA law. But, my dream is to either practice in NY or move back to Cali to practice. But, the cost of living is soooo cheap in Atlanta, I may just stay. But, am not a fan of the south!! What did you do in the summers? They act like it's the biggest deal of the world and seals your fate!
lol, yeah law school folks have a tendency of making everything seem like a big deal. last summer I enrolled in summer law courses but for various reasons I ended up having to drop them and it was too late to look for a job so i did not do anything legal related that summer. this summer I will be working at the attorney general's office and possibly doing some mediation stuff. Some people get very lucky and find a job that will pretty much hire them right after law school (assuming they pass the bar lol) but in my experience, nothing is written in stone. people change their minds and their direction all the time. what matters is getting some kind of work experience-even if its just working as a research assistant for a professor, and making connections/getting good recommendations. Do you know what you want to practice yet? (lol, I too am not a fan of the south. baltimore is about as far south as I am willing to venture)
